Georgia Tech and Emory University students pay a good amount for their education. Housing costs are high as well. I have an idea that may solve the students housing without breaking their parents bank account.


At Georgia Tech the costs run from $2,339 to $3,149 per semester. So that is $780.00 to $1049.00 per month nine months a year. That breaks down to $7017.00 a year to $9447.00. 


Buy a condo on a bus route or close enough that the students can walk to class. Rent out one of the bedrooms to a room mate and charge them $600.00 a month. Two room mates and that will get you $1200.00 a month.

The parents will have to put the deposit down and buy the condo but in four years they can sell it and get their money back. Odds are however renting a room to another student will make the deal a win win opportunity.

Atlanta's housing has attracted the nation’s 3rd largest home builder.

Lennar Corp.'s move into the Atlanta market, announced Monday, makes perfect sense, according to analysts and industry insiders.

While officials of the Miami-based company declined comment on its business strategy beyond a news release, others said Lennar could buy partially finished lots for pennies on the dollar, complete the construction and sell homes for significant profits.The number of distressed and half-built communities in Atlanta make it a good choice for the builder, said Jay McCanless, a senior home building analyst for FNT Equity Capital Markets.

It is a great time for investing in real estate regardless of the size of your pocket book. Prices are at an all time low and many choices. The market will eventually tighten up and those that have been buying all all along will be the fat cats. Link.
